Description

The Mesopotamian underworld, a dark and dusty realm beneath the earth where the dead exist as shadows. Also called Irkalla.

Significance

Kur is ruled by Ereshkigal and guarded by seven gates. It is not a place of punishment but of diminished existence, a grey half-life for all who die.
