Anunnaki

The great gods who judge and decree, lords of earth and the world below.Their assembly is the court from which no appeal returns.

Definition

A collective term for the major gods of the Mesopotamian pantheon, particularly those associated with earth and the underworld. They serve as judges and decision-makers in divine assembly.

Significance

The Anunnaki represent divine governance. After the cosmic restructuring in the Enuma Elish, they were divided between heaven and the underworld.
